KNOWLEDGE OF THE GOLDENDOODLE #BLOGGING FROM A-Z

When it comes to having knowledge of the Goldendoodle – I can honestly say I’ve been on both ends of the spectrum…

K

My innocence and blind trust was the perfect combination for Harley’s breeder puppy mill monster to take total advantage of me.

By the time I started searching the second time, I was prepared like a grad student about to defend her thesis.

GOOD TO KNOW –

Stats are great –

  • Height – 13 to 24 inches at the shoulder
  • Weight – mini 15-30 lbs / medium 30 to 45 lbs / standard 45 to 100+

FYI: Because they are a cross breed, their traits are not fixed, so there is no guarantee your Goldendoodle puppy will fall into the desired weight range.

But keep in mind, the type of dog you’re contemplating bringing into your home is also valuable information to know.

WHAT’S HE LIKE? –

Like both of the parent breeds, the Goldendoodle is intelligent, friendly and at least moderately active.

Harley may be a super cuddlier, Leo was a terrific athlete and Action Jaxson is a combo of the two.

I found this chart to be “spot-on” giving an accurate description of this cross breed and their characteristics…

Screen-Shot-2016-04-13-at-6.19.27-PM  There is still an awful lot for me to learn about this furry fluff of love, but I never grow weary reading about them!

*I am not a breeder nor a veterinarian. I am a Doodle Mom searching and sharing a better understanding about everything Goldendoodle.

We are always learning more about goldendoodles! Mama would still love to get one…but we haven’t been able to convince Dad yet…but we will continue to try! We would love to have a brother or sister!! Thanks for this very informative post!

Tell your mama to do what I did – I started talking about doodles all the time, sent internet links, showed cute photos, eventually I wore him down. Now he’s as big a fan as I am. Paws crossed you get one soon!

It’s always good to get plenty of knowledge before getting a dog.

Yes it is – but it’s so hard when you decide you want one. Most people act on emotion (I was one of those people), but a little bit of research will make it all the more sweeter once you bring your bundle of fur home.
